How to get there? I guess there will be more details from the websites... Taiwan International Orchid Show is one of the three main international orchid show in the world...I heard. Long time ago I been there for one time. And this time...also because of my friend, I went to see the show.
Maybe only me feeling a little bit weird for "Show"...I guess it's for the abbreation of "Taiwan International Orchid Show" becomes TIOS.
Anyway, it's usually held on Houbi District, Tainan City, Taiwan. Houbi District is the northernmost part of Tainan City, so actually it's near Chiayi County.
When it comes to Taina City, it's my place. I can ride the motorbike everywhere in Tainan, as well as to Houbi District.

After the ticket checked and get in, you can see outside exhibition from all over the world. The easiest way to know which country is from is by the poster behind. For example, the forth photo is from Brazil.
What worth to see is the inside exhibition. The first photo of Taiwan, and....this photo...I called it Bat cave filled with orchids. They use many different colour of light changing almost every second. Too dark to be real.
After the bat cave, here comes large works. All of them are made of orchids.
Another highlight I guess is the bird....Mikado pheasants. When I got there, I just saw the "show." The male (blue and black one) came out frome the cave, slowly slowly moved to the female Mikato pheasant...And then never go back. My friend and me just talking about what's the meaning of this moving if the bird just showed one time and never go back. But, at least, it's kind of surprise for these people saw the process. If you check the back of NT$1000 dollars, you will also see a pair of Mikato pheasants.
There's also some artist use many kind of flowers to make installation art work.
In the final part, there're all the orchids coming for the competition. Some competitors breeding their orchids for one year are just for the competition. It's a little bit hard to imagine how they control the time to make the orchids bloosm at the right time.
After seeing the orchids, there're lots of commerical things around the exhibition...maybe that's the reason some people call this "trade show."
Every year, there must be some surprises in the Taiwan Internatinal Orchid Show. Maybe, I still come again at the next year.
