Public Transportation is by Tainan bus Orange 10 to Taiwan Shoufu University. It's the same bus taken when visiting Madou Tsung-Yeh Art and Cultural Center. Actually Bus Orange 10 is the bus connecting two universities in Madou, Longtian Station in Guantian District, Wusantou Reservoir and Tainan National University of the Arts in Liujia District.

Another Tainan Bus to this place is Yellow 20. It's the bus from Linfongying Train Station in Liuying District, via Xiaing District, to Madou District.

Before you get into the park, next to this entrance, you can see a momument. It's talking about the story of this park.

Simplely to say, this place is a sacred place, with two ponds called Dragon Pool and Phoneix Pond. Long time ago there were many Gods lived here. But one day a bad guy thought it's not good to keep this place, so the bad guy threw many rocks and stones to the two ponds. And this destroyed this sacred place, the Gods decided to leave. After the Gods left, many diseases spreaded in Madou regeion....

One day, the Gods appeared in somebody's dream. The Gods told local people:" Please dig out the stuffs in the ponds and then this place will become prosperous again." Then local people indeed dug the ponds, and they found many stones and rotten trunks in the ponds. After they cleaned the two ponds, the legend said the Gods came back, and here again a sacred place. And that's the reason one of Taiwan's Present was born near this place...

It's the museum.

Daofong Lagoon Museum....another translation on the guide is "Daofong Inland Sea Story House"...I guess they are talking about the same things.

Daofong Inland(倒風內海) was formed by Zengwun River during 1711~1904, it's kind of natural harbor, so during that time many boats from all over the world could come the harbor and have trading, long time ago this place was very prosperous. But now all the harbar had gone because all of this place become plain, the boats could not reach here anymore.

This museum shows many evidences that here's a big harbor and how the people lived in this regeion.

It's open from Wed. to Sun. Free to visit.

I think it's a good place to know the history of Madou District.

Enjoy.
